Beverley J. Franklin-Brewer
BA(Hons), LL.B(Hons), L.E.C, MCIArb.

Beverley J. Franklin-Brewer is the Principal of Justicia Chambers, Attorneys-at-Law. Mrs. Franklin-Brewer has over 27 years’ experience as a practising Attorney-at-Law. She received her Bachelor of Laws Degree (Hons) in 1994 from the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus and the Certificate of Legal Education from the Hugh Wooding Law School in Trinidad in 1996.

She also holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree (Hons) from the University of the West Indies with a major in History. In 2009 she acquired certification as a Professional Mediator from Kennesaw State University in Georgia and in April 2012 she became a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators having obtained an Accredited Mediator’s certificate from this London-based institution. She is also an approved mediator for the  Supreme Court of Barbados.

Mrs. Franklin-Brewer was admitted to practice law in the Island of Barbados in 1996 and in The Commonwealth of Dominica later that same year. Shortly after being admitted to the local Bar, Mrs. Franklin-Brewer was elected to the position of Assistant Secretary of the Barbados Bar Association in 1997, a position which she held for two years. She also chaired the Magistrate's Court Committee of that Association during her first year on the Association's Council.

Over the past 27 years, Mrs. Franklin-Brewer has built a civil legal practice with special interest in Corporate Commercial Law and Real Estate Law.

Mrs. Franklin-Brewer has a keen sense of civic responsibility and philanthropy and from 2006 to 2008 held the post of President of the Barbados Chapter of "Variety - The Children's Charity", a charity which focuses on alleviating the plight of children with disabilities and those living in poverty. She was legal advisor to the charity until 2017 and Trustee until 2020.

In addition to her native English, Mrs. Franklin-Brewer has a working knowledge of Spanish and French.
Mrs. Avenel Y. Hinkson-Forde LL.B (Hons)
Mrs. Avenel Y. Hinkson-Forde LL.B (Hons)
Mrs. Avenel Hinkson-Forde graduated from the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus in 1989 having attained the Bachelor of Laws degree with Honours. She was called to the local Bar in October 1991, after having completed the Legal Education Certificate at the Hugh Wooding Law School where she was awarded the prize for being the most outstanding Barbadian law student.

Mrs. Hinkson-Forde has gained extensive experience as a legal practitioner over the past thirty-two years in areas which include debt collection and foreclosure suits. She is currently the Chairman of the Medical Appeal Tribunal and a member of the Copyright Tribunal.

Mrs. Hinkson-Forde is a former member of the Sunjet Toastmasters Club where she held the posts of Vice President Education and Secretary. She is also a founding member of the Optimist Club of Barbados East. 



Colin Tudor Orchard Brewer
Colin Tudor Orchard Brewer, BSc. (Hons), FCA
Colin Tudor Orchard Brewer graduated from the University of East Anglia in 1972 and qualified in the UK as a Chartered Accountant in 1976. 
He emigrated to Barbados in 1978 where he worked as a practicing Chartered Accountant before admission to the partnership of the local office of Price Waterhouse in 1983.
He was a key player in the development of the offshore financial services industry and on leaving professional practice acted as an advisor to the Government of Barbados in the further development of this sector including acting as co-author of a national strategic plan for the sector.

Colin formed Island Properties Limited (IPL) in 1995 as a 50% equity partner. IPL has operated to the present as an investment vehicle for a diverse range of hands-on-projects including real estate development, construction and rental, formation of a general insurance company, owning and managing a live entertainment theatre, ownership of a furniture manufacturer and other venture capital projects. He is currently engaged in a condominium development to construct and sell 48 residential units on the south coast of Barbados.

ANEURIN BREWER, BARRISTER


Aneurin Brewer was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 2008 and is a Junior Counsel with Red Lion Chambers, a leading set of chambers operating from premises in London and Chelmsford which specialises in complex crime, fraud, regulatory, professional discipline and public law.

Aneurin’s qualifications are as follows: 
Bar Vocational Course, BPP Law School: Very Competent 
GDL, City University: Distinction 
BA (Hons) Philosophy, Bristol University: First 

Aneurin has developed a well-deserved reputation as a tenacious and conscientious defence advocate with a down to earth demeanour and a talent for winning the confidence and trust of lay clients and juries. He is a specialist in lengthy, multi-handed and factually complex trials involving allegations of drugs supply, fraud and other criminal conspiracies both as a led junior and in his own right. He is currently ranked in the Legal 500 as a Leading Junior in the field of General Crime. 
In addition to a busy trial practice Aneurin regularly advises on and conducts appeals against conviction and/or sentence on a referral basis.
